Here are a few of Ontario’s top winter travel destinations.
1. Niagara Falls
Millions of tourists visit Niagara Falls each year, one of North America’s most well-known tourist attractions. All seasons are wonderful for visiting this natural wonder, which is located beside the Niagara River on the Canada-US border. But in the winter, the falls transform into a serene wonderland free of tourists.
Here, paths lead to 50-meter cascades, ice pieces floating in the air, and snow-covered trees. If you’re lucky, you could even get to see some of the falls frozen.

2. Blue Mountains
One of the top spots to visit in Ontario during the winter is unquestionably Blue Mountain. Anyone who enjoys winter sports will find a wealth of opportunities in this winter wonderland. There are activities like skiing, snowshoeing, snowboarding, tubing, and others available. The Blue Mountains, located about 2 hr. north of Toronto, is the perfect place for a winter weekend getaway. It is known to have not one of the best, but simply the best, ski village in Ontario.
With over 42 tracks and 16 chairlifts, this ski resort is the hub of all winter activities; from skiing and snowboarding to sledding and snow tubing. Gear rentals, day tickets, season passes, and lessons are available on site but you can also book them beforehand online.
There are lots of calm things to do in the area if you don’t enjoy adrenaline-pumping winter activities. While strolling through Sunset View Park, take in the waterfront vistas and the foggy atmosphere. Instead, I suggest going to a spa where you may relax while being pampered by the best hands.

3. Bruce Peninsula National Park

4. Toronto Christmas Market
It stands alone as a holiday event. The most well-known holiday event in Toronto, Canada, is the Toronto Christmas Market. It takes place in the Distillery District, which is decked out for the holidays with a huge Christmas tree, cheery lights with reminders, Santa, elves, and many other decorations. One of the best features of the location is the enormous outdoor beer garden and the enormous light tunnel.
If you happen to be in Ontario during this time of year, you must visit the Toronto Christmas Market, which is consistently rated as one of the best Christmas markets around the world. Here, hundreds of regional artists, musicians, and producers of artisanal foods assemble and present a show.

5. Casa Loma

6. Nathan Phillips Square

The canal in Ottawa’s downtown transforms into the biggest skating rink in the world during the winter. There are several access ramps and warming restrooms. The ice rink is typically open from late January until the beginning of March.
Additionally, they have fire pits, skate rentals, and refreshment stands. The skating experience here is fantastic. Numerous famous sites that had major influences on Canada’s history line the 7.8-kilometer-long skating rink.
